NEW S2 RACE CAR TO COMPETE IN NEW DIVISION AT TOYOTA SPEEDWAY AT IRWINDALE

Seven race series features spec economy car scheduled to make 2009 debut on July 11 with sponsorship support from Langers Juice
Toyota Speedway at Irwindale in conjunction with Race Car Factory, Inc. and High Point Racing officially unveiled last Saturday night a new race car to compete in a new racing division at the Speedway scheduled to begin on July 11, 2009. The S2 division with sponsorship backing from the Langer Juice Company will compete on TOYOTA Speedway’s half-mile oval.
The series will feature a turn-key spec economy stock car with a fully-fabricated chassis built by Race Car Factory of Irwindale, Calif. and High Point Racing of Agoura Hills, Calif. with a spec body from Five Star Racecar Bodies of Twin Lakes, Wis.
The car design includes a rear wing and front end splitter resembling a current NASCAR Sprint Cup car. The body features plastic body components including nose, tail, fenders and quarter panels for increased durability. The car comes complete with a Chevrolet 350 horsepower sealed iron head crate engine (350 small block) with a stock Holley four-barrel carburetor, three-speed transmission and a nine-inch Ford rear end.
The complete turn-key cost of the car is estimated at $25,000 allowing drivers and teams to compete at a reduced cost. The series will serve as a stepping stone for those competitors graduating from the Legends Cars division. It is also expected to attract sportsman drivers who are looking to compete in an affordable and competitive racing series.
The basic components of the race car include: spec perimeter straight up chassis built with 2in. x 3 in. x .120 wall rectangular frame and 1.75 in. x .095 DOM seamless tubing roll bars for durability featuring a rigid chassis allowing to easily replace bolt-on components and a high roll cage with large interior for comfort and safety; 350 hp GM sealed iron head crate motor; stock Holley four-barrel carburetor; clutch transmission with a 10.5 in. street stock clutch, three-speed sealed transmission user friendly for beginners and durable for longevity; rear end featuring a sealed 4.56 mini spool rear gear in 9 in. floater housing; Five Star Bodies S2 Body with Sprint Cup rear wing, plastic nose, tail, fenders and quarter panels; coil over front and rear suspension; sealed economy shock absorbers with eight adjustment varieties.
The 2009 seven race schedule for the Langer Juices S2 series is as follows: July 4 exhibition, July 11; August 1, 15, 29; September 12, 26 and October 11. Dates are subject to change.
